One of the hardest parts of aging as a women is the changes to our appearance. Gravity is not our friend for sure! We start to notice wrinkles, fine lines, sagging skin, and loss of muscle tone! And just as our metabolism comes to a screeching halt, and our waistline starts to increase, we notice that our energy level starts to decrease. If you can relate to any of this, you are not alone. But there is hope! First, we need to learn to appreciate that we will be the best version of ourselves. Aging is a part of life and it can actually be the best part of our lives! As we age, we start to realize what is really important in our lives. Being healthy and excepting the next chapter is what is important! Now that doesn’t mean that we give up and sit back and get fat and flabby. It means that we need to work a little harder and a little smarter to stay as fit and fabulous as we can. 1. Take the time to get on a skin care regiment. 2. Drink more water! And less alcohol (sorry) 3. Do Cardio at least 3-4 times a week. You need to get your heart rate up. Keeping your heart strong will prolong your life! 4. Resistance training! We need to build strong bones. Plus building muscle will help to increase your metabolism too. 5. Fuel your body with healthy foods. Avoid sugar and junk food! Eat to survive! 6. Track your food. It will help to hold you accountable. 7. Sleep is important! 7-8 hours is ideal! 8. Enjoy time with family and friends! Laugh more!
As simple as this all seems, it isn't! It takes a lot of commitment and effort! Find people to share in this journey will help.
Hire a trainer. A trainer will help to hold you accountable and can design custom workouts to help you obtain your fitness goals while keeping you from injuring yourself.
Try fitness classes that you like! If you like them you are more likely to stay with them.
Walk, walk walk! At a brisk pace! Get that heart rate up!
Find others to join on your fitness crusade! It will help you to stay focused if your not on this journey alone.
