I never understood why people say, "the grass isn't greener on the other side." Because what if the grass is greener on the other side? Does that mean you stay in a situation even if you're miserable because getting out of the situation might make you more miserable? What if getting out of a situation that makes you miserable will make you happy?! I believe that if you dread going to work more than you look forward to it, it's time to get another job. If you are in a relationship where you are miserable more than you are happy, it is time to work on the relation or it's time to get out. If you dislike more things about your home than you like, it's time to move. I understand that change is scary, and nothing comes with a guarantee. But, if you never try new things, how will you know whether they are better than what you currently have? I believe if you take the time to research and really think through a decision then taking those steps to move forward is always more beneficial than staying in a relationship or a situation that simply does not make you happy.
